Considering moving to Tripoli

My husband has been offered a job in Tripoli. We're both South African, he's an architect and I'm a graphic designer, currently living in Botswana and we're looking for the following info:
• how safe is it
• which area should we live in
• as a woman can I work (I realise I would need a sponsor)
• is it safe for me to explore Tripoli on my own
• we are very outdoors people, what could we do in our spare time
