My wife and I are considering a move from the USA to Trondheim for an attractive job offer.
We are wondering if anyone can tell us about the parental leave regulations, as they will apply to us. We recently found out my wife is pregnant, and she will likely be due before it will have been possible to work full-time for 6 months.
Is it true that we will not be eligible for the very generous Norwegian parental leave benefits? Does anyone know how much the policies of the specific employer determine these benefits? I mean, is it possible her employer will be less stringent with this minimum requirement?
