Tunis with my family

I am going to be studying abroad for the Protected content year in Tunis.

I will be bringing my two daughters and a nanny (my sister) with me during this time. My daughters will be 10 and 12 during this period.

We have some international experience, but this is the first time for any of us to go abroad alone (without my husband), and of course we have only been to Mexico.

I want to get some information from people regarding the following:

What are some of the neighborhoods that you would recommend that are close to the university?

What types of fun things are there for young kids to do?

Are there schools that I can enroll my children in (home school is an option)?

Any other Americans or foreign nationals living with their kids in Tunis (from this forum)?

Health and Safety concerns?
