Moving to Vancouver

Hi,
My husband and I are planning to move to Vancouver in a year or so. We don't know anybody over there, so i would appreciate any info, e.g. What's the city like, what areas of the city are best to live in, real estate prices (renting and buying), what's the job market like, and anything else you think I should know.
