Volunteering as a minor (Vancouver)

Hello everyone, I am a student from Germany and I am going to graduate from high school this year. Afterwards I would like to spend a few months in Canada. Preferably, I would like to do some volunteering with animals.
My problem is that I am only 16 years old Protected content then) and all the organizations I know only accept persons of full age.
My question is: Does anybody know an opportunity to do volunteering with animals in Canada as a minor? And which requirements do I have to fulfill (such as visa, etc.)?
