Why is civic integration necessary? (Victoria)

A large proportion of the Canadian population is made up of people from other countries. To be able to understand each other it is essential that everyone speaks English or French and that everyone has an understanding of Canadian society. This is referred to as civic integration. The procedures and the provision of information is placed together to help highly skilled migrants and their families to settle in and familiarize themselves within their new living and working environment. The main purpose is to quickly feel welcome and at home.
