Best way to transfer funds from UK to Austria? (Vienna)

Dear Expats,
Having received an email from Internations yesterday regarding money transfers, it has got me wondering what is the best way to transfer money from an English bank account to an Austrian bank account?

Please can I have your recommendations and experiences,as I will need to do this at the end of December/start of January.
