suggestions for New Year in/around Vienna

Dear Vienna Community,

We are planning to travel to Vienna around the New Year time and are looking for some suggestions for the New Year celebrations in Vienna and around. Among all different possibilities that crossed our mind, we have been considering combining skiing with spa (hot springs), going to the opera (do you think it is still possible to get tickets now?), a good party for dancing, an interesting jazz, classic music concerts, etc.

Would you have any specific suggestions how to spend a memorable New Year in Vienna?
