Looking for my origins (Warsaw)

Dear all polish members,

I m italian, living in China, polish roots.
My grandfather is polish, he came to Italy with the polish army in second world war , entering Bologna with the Ally Army, met my grandma and never went back to Poland.

He always tells me that his home town in Poland is (I don t know how to write it ) Zikrin or something liket that. I can t find it anywhere.
I don't know anything about his origins, i saw some pictures and never had the chance to come to Poland.
Does any of you can help me find someting about this town ? Maybe now it is called in other way, or it is spelled in a wrong way..
Really, i don t know anything about it and I m really sorry for that...
