Moving to DC! Tips welcome! (Washington, D.C.)

Hi everyone!

My husband and I have just come back to the US from having lived in Australia, and are looking to move to DC. Neither one of us has ever lived there, but we do know we love the city!

Before anything else, we'd be focusing on the job & accommodation hunt. My husband's degrees are in History, Arts, and Art History from UNC and his work experience is in administration and real estate.

Any tips or suggestions - recruitment agency recommendations or connections in the history field maybe? - on job opportunities in those fields would be very much appreciated!

Also, any thoughts you'd like to share on where best to live around DC (besides Arlington and Alexandria, of course)?
