Non-Profit Leadership Fellowship / Internship (Washington, D.C.)
The Global Language Network, a Protected content nonprofit organization is actively interviewing for the Leadership Fellowship and Internship opportunity in the program. This is a voluntary position in a small but active non-profit that is designed to build and refine your professional skills in an international environment. GLN is dedicated to the mission of, "Using language as a tool to help fix our world."
As a Leadership Fellow or Intern admitted in the program, you will receive the ability to take any language class during the semester with guaranteed admission for free provided that you complete the entire internship or fellowship.
GLN's program coordinator, Yaa Nti, sent me the information below about the program to share with prospective Leadership Fellows:
Leadership Fellows and Interns commit 30, 32, or 40 hours per week, depending on the position and the field.
Leadership Fellowship examples:
Operations - supporting our Teaching Fellows by conducting class observations, creating teaching resources such as visual aids, handouts, etc and expanding the teacher resource library
Administrative - get the real experience of how a not-for-profit organization works by being directly-involved in day-to-day operations and administration.
Outreach -supporting GLN growth through building strategic partnerships between GLN and other organizations.
Marketing - supporting GLN marketing efforts, social media, newsletters, and blogs.
Development - supporting GLN growth through corporate sponsorship outreach, grant research, grant writing, and other fundraising areas.
Networking - organizing GLN teacher training and workshops, events, organize GLN representation at local social, cultural, and professional events and fairs, (anything from Embassy events to career fairs), attending local networking, social, and cultural events as an official GLN representative and making connections for GLN and for yourself.
*Depending on the candidate, GLN may be able to combine positions or create a new position if needed.
