Schools in DC (Washington, D.C.)

Dear All,

I am struggling wrt to the decision whether we should send our children to an International School or to a Public School.
I read mixed comments about the International School of Washington and the British school and I am wondering if someone has experience with them?

If you would not advise for them, what are the alternatives:
- other International Schools?
- other Public Schools (which area?) which offer a nice after school program.
