Advice needed for Thailand travel

Hi all,
My friend and are planning to go to Thailand in Sep, we will stay in Bangkok Protected content , then head for the island for relaxing and diving.
Some islands are beautiful, but too commecial with too many tourists, any advice which island we can go?
