African-AMerican in Astana

Hello all,

My company is asking me to take a job in Astana for a year and I'm not sure whether to consider it or to politely decline it. Do you have any thoughts?. I'm much more concerned if I would be treated differently by locals being that I am African-American. I'm sure that most countries are sociable and welcome all foreigners, but I also dont want to kid myself or be naive at all.

Is it safe and where would you recommend that I live in Astana? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
