Another language = another person?

My name is Natalie and I moved to Berlin in Protected content . I've been learning German since Protected content , so I realized that speaking another language makes you feel like a different person. Since I am engaged in psychological counseling and coaching, I've noticed that integration into another country and communication in another language leads to a development of new character traits. For example, when I communicate in German/English, I'm not afraid of mistakes or misrepresenting myself and I'm not embarrassed, which is the same as when I communicate with new people in Russian. However I feel stupid if I need to fill out some papers, although this does not pose any problems in Russian.

But it's not only that. I went to study coaching in German and noticed that the approach to understanding some things is different from the approach in Russia. The core values in German system are also slightly different, but the main thing is that I have a completely different personality in my work if I counsel in a foreign language.

This inspired me to go even further with this study, and I hired a German-speaking psychological counselor to work through my relocation transfers. You know: work, study, interaction with different "Ämter", new acquaintances - these are big changes in a person's life. Moving makes a big impression on life, all areas of life need to be established from scratch.

Great, but you know what? I hardly found a consultant. Most of them turned me down (I'm not even talking about prices and the need for insurance), because I "should learn German better first". However, in learning a language (in the fifth year) you are faced with the problem that in the classroom it becomes boring, but in life it is still difficult to communicate.

So I decided to make my own portal where German-speaking specialists listen to foreigners with pleasure and help them adapt after moving. Migrants are also well-educated people, with their own businesses, projects that were in great demand in their homeland, but are not yet very adapted in Germany. I am on my way.

I want to do that as a social project. So far, only in Germany, and then throughout Europe and the world: psychological coaching in the language of the country you have moved to. I am about to validate this idea. That is why I am doing a poll: Protected content (yeah, it supposed to be “poll”). I would appreciate if you share how you like the idea. Would you like to join? Could you please share you opinion and take a survey?
