Apologies - I screwed it up

Sorry seems to be the hardest word for some and when it happens that some big shot apologises . . . it gets me a good feeling about them and strengthens their reputation.

The last weeks were the weeks of apologies. Either done or not.

Barack Obama did in public, Hartmut Mehdorn, the German Deutsche Bahn head after he had to face serious consequences, the pope . . . did not because he's unfailing.

How do you feel about apologies and their influences in politics and society ?
