Are we getting more or less intelligent?

I have just read an article that claimed, since the Victorian era, the average IQ has dropped 14 points. The reason they gave for this was that intelligent women have less children than those who are not so fortunate.

The article got me wondering whether this modern world produces more or less intelligent human beings. Is it more complicated that that? Are we more intelligent in some ways and less in others? If so, are those ways more or less important?
