Area Sales Manager China - Shanghai

Our client is a leading global player in the food processing segment with operations across Europe, the Americas and Asia. They pride themselves on the quality of their products and on their people, and build sustainable business partnerships with clients. They strongly believe in local business management, and are now looking to establish a presence in China in order to capitalize on growth opportunities. To this end, we are looking to hire a highly entrepreneurial and experienced Area Manager to be based in the Shanghai region.

- Translate the corporate business plan into a clear actionable strategy
- Work closely with the existing distribution network and build up the volume of business by creating mutually beneficial sales models
- Take responsibility for local cost budgets, both OPEX and and local marketing activity
- Create KPIs for local sales team, and regularly monitor progress, taking corrective action when needed
- Take decisions autonomously within a frameowork agreed upon with the commercial director

- Educated to university level, with a proven ability to work at corporate level
- Minimum 5 years of expereince in the FMCG sector in successful commercial roles
- Fluency in English and Mandarin, with a proven ability to work internationally
- Experience of working with numbers, managing budgets, creating forecasts, and understanding profitability drivers
- Proven ability to work independently and in an unsupervised setting with distance reporting
