Australian Generations Oral History Project

The Australian Generations Oral History Project is a national project led by historians at Monash and La Trobe Universities, in partnership with ABC Radio National and the National Library of Australia. The project is collecting life story interviews with generations of Australians born from the Protected content to the Protected content .

We are interested in the life stories of all Australians including the stories of migrants. It's important that we record life stories that haven't yet been told. We are particularly keen to hear from men born between Protected content live in Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Sydney and Adelaide.

The idea behind the project is to examine the formation and significance of Australian generations. The interviews will be stored in a digital archive or 'time capsule' at the National Library of Australia for future generations to listen to. What they'll hear is a snapshot of life in the 20th and early 21st centuries.
