Choosing the right school system abroad

Hi,

As a family with school children, having moved around a lot during their pre-school, elementary school and junior high school years, I'm interested in hearing other people's attitudes to "finding the right school system abroad" for our expat children?

As a norm, we ourselves chose native-speaker schools (i.e. local school systems), but had to give in at junior high school level, now sending our children to an English-speaking international school.

How did others go about it? Was it ever difficult to make the choice for your children?
