Cultural Limbo / Living in polar opposites

I'd really like to keep this short but if you have experience or understanding of 'living in cultural limbo', I think you can understand how difficult it can be to keep this subject brief.
Nonetheless, I'll give it a go.

First of all, a short introduction about myself. I'm a Japanese national raised with an American education. Although the 'country' I was raised in was Japan, the 'culture' I was educated/nurtured with was American. From age 5 to 18, the education and environment I spent most of my time in; in this case, an American school naturally formed my perspectives, beliefs, values, and my personality. I communicated my thoughts in English, became tolerant of different ideas and values, and came to see 'difference' as a strength.

However, the discrepancy of the following three factors,
1. The culture I was educated/nurtured in. (Personal & Identity aspects)
2. The culture of the country I was raised in. (Environmental & Social aspects)
3. My nationality. (Legal aspect. As in where I'm legally allowed to be without a visa.)
has got me facing some complicated obstacles in life; especially when it comes to looking for a place to work and live.

I was wondering if there was anyone else who has been through something similar and wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts and experience of how they managed it. I've avoided going too deep into the details to keep it short but if you have any questions or feedback I would really appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!
