Dangers of captive honeymoon.

Is honeymoon the making of end of marriage?.was the sentence ,too much intimacy breeds contempt coined with the honeymoon in mind. Naturally speaking when two people of two distinctly different gender are cooped up in a small place for some time ,they seem to be overly influenced with each others eccentricities so much more than if they were little apart. Instead of bonding they seem to get more apart coming back from their honeymoon with new found knowledge of each others irreconcilable unfathomable stupid quirkiness. Is this situation universal or affect only some people?
