Are you, or do you know an individual or company in France, engaged in food tourism? I recently relocated from the United States to France and I am looking to find employment in the tourism industry, with a particular interest in gastro-tourism.
My background in food and hospitality over three decades has included positions as pastry chef, waiter, maître d’, catering manager, restaurant manager, and consultant. Trained in my native Switzerland as pâtissier-confiseur, I worked as a pastry chef for a decade, then moved to the front of the house, eventually working as catering and restaurant manager. In recent years I worked as a consultant in Seattle, Washington, helping to open an Italian-style café, as well as a coffee and chocolate boutique. My strengths are customer relations, organizational management, and experience management. I speak fluent English, German, and Swiss-German, as well as conversational French.
As this move represents a shift in my professional focus I am open to any opportunity that enables me to enter this new market. I am looking for advice on where my talents and experiences would carry the most weight in this large industry, add the most value to an organization, and how to best to position myself in the burgeoning field of gastro-tourism.
