Does Money Make You Happy?

We have got used to quantifying quality of life in terms of economics. Whilst we all know you need a certain minimum income to have a nice life, after this point, a few more euros in your pocket is not the only thing on your mind. If we simply follow the economic metrics we miss many of the things that make life "nice".
I think we can all think of two people, two countries or two cities that are just as rich but not as content.
How much do you need to make you happy?
Do you ever have so much that you don't care about getting more?
Why are some countries and people happy with less?
How can we measure quality of life more meaningfully?

Note: I thought of this thread whilst reading comments from two IN members. There were arguing about the economic costs and benefits of migration as if these were the only concerns that mattered.
