Driving from UK to Munich

Hello! I hope all my fellow Internations members are all well. Am planning a touring in camping site end of august till two first week of September. I will be driving from UK/ passing by Calais borders. I will need probably one night min in France then head to Paris to collect my guests and carry on to Munich. I appreciate to share anyone who had similar experience about the best route to take or about which well rated family campsite out there in Munich. Is it required that I book everything in advance as it will be peak time I guess or it’s a bit relaxed in September time ( maybe not with the Oktoberfest coming..) if anyone knows best places for night life then it’s a bonus.. I am a bit nervous as its first time doing the driving..am sure it will be fine.
