Digital Ad Sales Development Manager - GS Protected content
The Digital Ad Sales Manager is responsible for working with our industry-leading digital sales team to develop sales propositions, creative custom solutions along with associated collateral, and coordinate/execute custom sales programs. The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative thinker with exceptional communication/design skills. The role will be called on to become an expert in specific advertising categories and therefore must possess outstanding research skills. Conducts market and client research to understand customer needs, deliver insights to product development team and create targeted solutions. Leads the development of media kits, presentations, collateral and sales tools to support ad category specific sales efforts. Develops a broad understanding of all of the assets that the BBC has to bring to customers and develop proactive as well as reactive pitches for clients that combines knowledge of what the BBC has to bring to market with a keen understanding of the marketplace and our clients’ place in it. Works with all relevant areas of the organization (product, pricing & inventory, advertising operations, production, etc.) in the development of sales programs, new digital products and unique client-driven solutions that are strategically grounded in the needs of the client. Works with sales team and leadership to manage and monitor sold programs, and conduct post-mortem evaluations of the effectiveness of the program.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with Protected content experience within the online advertising community. Proven understanding of how to translate the long-term business objectives of advertisers into solutions that could be provided by the BBC (qualified candidates will be ready to produce a portfolio of work samples) Excellent communication skills as well as deep proficiency with the software tools of the trade (PowerPoint, Word, etc). Must be able to craft a compelling presentation and then present it effectively and confidently. Category domain experience preferred, preferably within the B2B, Auto and/or Consumer Technology advertising categories) Experience with market research tools and an understanding of how to craft go-to-market positioning. Must thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced culture. Must come up with big ideas and the courage to voice them. Ad Sales experience a plus.
