EU Human Rights

Reports in the UK press have stated that the British government wants to disengage from the EU Human Rights Act. This legislation is seen by many in the UK as protecting the most unsavoury characters in society. Is this the start of a move by member states' to move away from certain aspects of Euro legislation that are deemed too intrusive, and that are actually fine in theory, but not in practice.
