Faith leads to..... brain atrophy!?

Study of the University of Miami showed that believers are better adapted to life. The fact is:

1. Religious rituals, prayer and meditation, have a positive impact on the brain areas responsible for regulation and self-control.

2. If a person believes certain objectives "sacred", he is making more efforts to achieve them, operates more efficiently.

3. Religious dogma, the fear that God is watching, forcing the faithful to observe higher standards of living, prevent the acquisition of bad habits and commit antisocial acts.

But on the other hand regardless of religious affiliation, non-religious people with age have LESS BRAIN ATROPHY compared with the faithful.
Education, social support, type of religion - have no effect on this phenomenon.

Any comment will be more then welcome!
