Going to Bogota/Voy para Bogota.

Hello all, I'm venturing of and have decided to go visit Colombia. I have plenty of Colombians friends here where I live and they have sparked an interest. What do you all recommend I visit? I will be in Bogota mostly. Will it be worth me renting a vehicle? Where could I catch a tour group for better sightseeing. Thank you for any suggestions. I am looking forward to my visit.
