HELP Lost NIE Card

Hello can anyone tell me how to go about replacing my NIE card, I lost my wallet. I filed a police report but now I am stumped as to what to do next. I cannot get an appointment for the office that issued it because my NIE is not expired and you have to have an appointment before you can go to the office????. Nothing on line explains what to do.
