Dear all,

If you plan to visit Vienna, the best thing that you can probably do is to have a look at the official homepage of the City of Vienna (Stadt Wien) regarding tourism:

Protected content

In the left corner you can find the “Menü” (menue). Please click on it. At its bottom you will find “Deutsch” (German), where you can change to English to read the whole content in English.

Here you can find informations about hotels, events, culture, typische Wiener Kaffeehäuser (typical Viennese coffeehouses) and so on.

When you click on the button “Hotels” you can look for a hotel room. You can also call them at “Wien Hotels & Infos” – tel. Protected content send them an email to Protected content

When you click on events, you can choose from 25 different categories like concerts, exhibitions, guided tours, opera, theatre, clubs, parties...

When you are in Vienna, you can go to the tourist information in the center of the city:

Austria is a catholic country. If you want to come to Vienna during Easter time or Christmas time, it will certainly be quite difficult to find an affordable hotel room of good quality. A double room would cost at least 60 Euros for one night, I suppose.

Vienna is famous for its coffeehouses. People like to meet for a cup of coffee. Hotel Sacher stays close to the opera house. There you can also have a cup of coffee and eat a piece of the famous Sacher Torte.

Lucky you, if you plan to go to Vienna this weekend (April 14th and 15th)! The weather forecast says, that the weather will be great the coming days! A lot of sunshine and about 23 degrees (Celsius)! Okay, I'm quite enthusiastic. ;) I love sunny weather.

A cool place to hang out in the sun is the MQ (Museumsquartier). There you can find a great museum and some restaurants, coffeehouses and bars. And it's huge yard is really awesome! Sometimes open air concerts or clubbings take place here. It is famous for it's big "couches" built of concrete. People love to sit on them to meet friends, read a book, listen to music or for flirting. ;)

Besides the MQ stays very close to the Mariahilfer Straße, which is the biggest shopping street in Vienna. There you can also find a lot of coffeehouses, restaurants and so on, where you can sit outside in their "Schanigarten" (a little "garden" in front of the coffeehouse) to enjoy the sunshine and watch people walking by.

Enjoy your holidays in Vienna! ☺
