Honouring a Terrorist with Style

How did the ever enlightened Palestinian Authority just this week honour their latest 19 year old martyred hero? Of course, by naming a street after him. From today, the proud citizens of the lovely Palestinian town of Ramallah can hold their heads high and walk smugly with more spring in their step in the belief that another one of their heroes did not die in vain.

What exactly did this 19 year old do to deserve this accolade? Did he invent the cure to AIDS? Did he win the Nobel Prize for Peace? Did he score the winning point in the World Rugby Cup? Did he save a baby and his mother from a burning building? Well, no. He is being honored as a hero for stabbing a 2 year old baby girl (the other baby miraculously was unharmed), her mother Mrs. Banita, her father Mr. Banita and Mr. Lavi a rabbi teacher who came to the family’s aid. When the father and rabbi died later of their wounds, the Palestinians had their hero. But when Mrs. Banita was running to get help with a knife sticking out of the back of her neck, the Palestinians who were onlookers spat, laughed and cursed at her as she begged them to help her babies. One of these onlookers wanted to help finish the job by slapping her while another yelled at her to “drop dead” when she told him she’d give him a million shekels if he helped her get away with her two babies. I don't know about you, but when I see a baby being stabbed and a helpless mother being smacked around, my faith demands that I intervene and help because this is the right thing to do. I don't need to be offered a "million shekels" to save an innocent life. Regardless of the political situation in Israel, common notions of decency and fair play ought to have demanded that these Palestinian onlookers do something to help the stabbed baby girl and her bleeding mother. If this were anywhere else in the world (well, except most of the Middle East and Africa), onlookers would have stepped up to help the mother in distress.

Don’t believe me? Watch the attack for yourself but be warned the video in the below link (at the end of the news article) is very violent and even chilling as you see a man nonchalantly taking a sip of his soft drink as he watched the attack as if it were a Monday night football game.
