How necessary is the acquisition of Guan Xi in doing business in China?

I have recently become aware of the deeply cultural behaviour of Guan Xi and it's relevance to doing business in China. Apparently, if you cannot understand or practice guan xi, you're unlikely to get far or succeed in growing a profitable business alliance.

In designing Relationship Capital training for Protected content , we are going to be offering education in Guan Xi from 'insiders' who have in depth knowledge on this subject. I would love anyone who has insight into this topic to weigh in.
