How to transfer $100k to Brazil?

A friend of mine lives in the US, and would like to lend her parents in Brazil 100,000 US dollars. That's a large amount of money, so I'm not sure regular Western Union and the like works.

Is that possible? What's the recommended way for doing that? Any idea on tax implications? It's a temporary lend, for a cash flow issues, and would be repaid in about 3 months. What's the procedure for her parents to pay her back?
