“If you believe you’re a citizen of the world..."

In her speech at the Conservative Party Convention this week Theresa May, the British Prime Minister, said:
“If you believe you’re a citizen of the world, you’re a citizen of nowhere. You don’t understand what the very word citizenship means"

I thought this may be the best platform to discuss the meaning of the expression "citizen of the world" and if patriotism can coexist with "being a citizen of the world".

Jim, feel free to respond with a poem on this topic! ;)
