If you were me.....................

If you were me, what would you do.......?

Would like some advice please. I am a British single mum with two children age 8 and 10. I am an English Language teacher and have lived and worked overseas in lots of different countries for many years so the expat life is not new to me. Right now I've just finished a contract with the British Council in Ipoh, Malaysia and I am staying here for the next 6 months or so to (hopefully) complete my PhD which is in Applied Linguistics.

I am now thinking that, for the sake of my children's education, I would like to go somewhere where we can settle for the next few years and stop the interruptions to schooling. I have been appalled at the international schools in Malaysia and am determined to make our next move to somewhere that really does provide excellent education beyond the glitzy websites.

I will be applying for lecturer positions in universities and need a package which provides school fees etc. From what I can see this seems to apply mostly/only in the Middle East and Asia....does anyone have any other information about that which may help focus my search? Am I correct in thinking that?

Are there any single parents/parents who consider certain countries particularly great for raising children?

Any other thoughts, tips or advice would also be appreciated.
