Istanbul Relocation

I am considering relocating to Istanbul in the near future and would like some references or resources or info on contacts for accommodation, residency, etc. I am a single retired man living in Central Europe. I would want to rent a long-term flat in a respectable area of Istanbul, near public transport, food markets, etc. Any help in this initial inquiry would be appreciated.
