Italy Ideas?

Can you help me, guys?

I have never been in Italy and I am planning to go for one week.I heard it is a beautiful country!!!! I know some Italien people and they are great! SO FRIENDLY, cute and helpful.

But one of my friend went to Italy and she was robbed. I know that it is normal. That kind of things happens everywhere. But she scared me a little. Have you ever been in Italy? I wanna go there alone, but is it a good idea? I have gone Prag, Wien, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Bratislava ,Amsterdam and so many places and I did not have any bad experiences and I am pretty sure there is gonna be no problem for Italy ,too. But I am a little confused.
