Lending money in Colombia

Hi.
I`ve lived in Colombia for 4.5 years now, I have a cedula extranjeria and want to lend money to buy a car. But I`ve walked against a brick wall every time I applied, whether it is for a credit card or a loan through a bank. Even my own bank (Bancolombia) refused my application, even though my pension from abroad is paid directly into my account, the reason being that I don`t have a credit record in Colombia. It seems to be a vicious circle. Has any one come against this problem?
