Life in Amman, Jordan for unmarried western women

Hi everyone,

I am interested at moving to Amman, Jordan for a two year post and I wondered if anyone could tell me what life is like for a western woman in Jordan and more importantly, what is life like if you are not married.

I like mixing with people from all walks of life and I am very interested in history, culture and the arts but I also love sport and dancing, so lots of variety.

Everything I have read about life in Jordan as a western woman is always written about women who are married to a Jordanian or are there for their husbands job with their children. What about single, ambitious, sociable western women - what is life like in Amman for us?
