Looking for friends/contacts in Vancouver...

Hi Everyone! In September I am coming over to Canada for a year to continue my studies in International Journalism at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I have never been to Canada before, but I've heard great things about the country, so I thought why not take the opportunity...

I am travelling alone, and will also be staying alone. Therefore, it would be great to make some connections, maybe anyone from/living in Vancouver, at the university or interested in journalism. (If you're none of the above, but feel like getting in touch anyway, that's great too). I would also really appreciate some advice on accomodation, or even just general things I may want to know before I come over.
