Manufacturing Purchasing Manager / Adhesives (CMTG A)

The role:

As a Purchasing Manager, you will work in an international, virtual category team, being responsible for the regional and global management of designated baskets.
You will be responsible for:
Optimize the purchasing process by developing/maintaining key supplier relationships, driving value enhancement strategies and ensuring good quality products, sourced on-time at lowest total acquisition cost
Ensure involvement of CMTG in all 3rd party manufacturing, manage commercial aspects of 3rd party manufacturing suppliers within basket responsibility
Cooperate with the marketing and R&D teams of the business unit Adhesive Technologies in order to identify projects leading to cost reduction or service improvement.
Keep the business colleagues updated with market trends, opportunities and new ideas
Identify new suppliers, monitor the market for opportunities and pro-actively propose suppliers to business unit Adhesive Technologies.
Negotiate/manage contracts and service agreements with suppliers.
Develop and implement programs of standardization, process improvement, cost reduction and cost avoidance.
Drive continuous costs, process and quality improvements across the value chain
Best leverage the supply base and link high performing suppliers to future business opportunities.
Conduct regular risk assessments to avoid supply disruptions, quality defaults and capacity restrictions.
Work with suppliers/business as an escalation point to resolve any contamination, chemical, packaging, filling or assembly issues.
Support root cause identification analysis and establish corrective actions.

Who we are looking for:

Fluent or native English is a must, German is a bonus
3-5 years of experience in Purchasing or Sales in / Chemical Sector in an international environment
University degree in Business Administration / Chemical Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with common negotiation techniques as well as leading a project
Experience in negotiation, convincing as well as analytical and conceptual skills should be one of clear personal strengths
Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
Good communication and persuasion skills and excellent computer skills (MS Office + SAP)
