NYC to Niagara - Roadtrip article

You can fly into NYC or Buffalo or drive from anywhere to start this journey of NYC to Niagara Falls and back.

Wanna wonderful northern highlights road trip? Come on up for a Protected content whirlwind tour. You should drive about four hours heading to the Corning Glass Museum where you can learn about the history of glass and watch live demonstrations from glass making artists or sign up to make your own glass gift like a glass bead, sanded glass cup or Christmas ornament.

Naples and Bristol, NY is your next stop where you can tour and/or taste at the Hazlitt Red Cat Cellars or Heron Hill Winery. Two of my favorite things to do in Naples is the September Grape Festival and theater and music at the Bristol Valley Theater from April – November bvtnaples.org. There is lots of hiking/bicycling on NY and Ontario County parks/trails/roads.

Canandaigua, NY is your next stop for 2 nights….Canandaigua is one of the famous Finger Lakes where you can find about 45 restaurants and over 40 places to stay overnight from hotels to lovely lakeside lodges/vacation rentals (e.g. Protected content . You can explore Randall Standish Vineyards to pick/buy fresh grapes/grape juices to enjoy or make into your favorite libations, take a cooking class at NY Kitchens or stroll the gardens/mansions at the Granger Homestead with carriage museum or Sonnenburg Gardens. November 11th marks the 225th Anniversary of the Protected content Treaty when the US Federal Government signed a sovereignty agreement with the Haudenosaune Confederacy. Visit the Ganondagan Museum and Protected content for more information.

In Winter, skiing and seasonal hiking is at the Cumming Nature Center or Bristol Mountain Ski Resort and sometimes you can find people fishing on the frozen lake. Spring Protected content the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center along with CMAC, Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center at the Finger Lakes Community College which also hosts lectures too.

If Music is still on your mind, then your next stop should be Rochester NY, home to George Eastman Theatre, George Eastman House and Dryden Theater, Eastman School of Music (Kilburn Hall concerts), Fringe Festival in September and the yearly Lilac Festival in May/ Rochester International Jazz Festival in June, Strong Museum, Geva Theatre and public market.

Niagara is your next overnight destination where you enjoy a visit in any season rain or shine. You can stroll along or under the falls, take a whirlwind boat tour on the Maid of the Mist, enjoy the casinos and many restaurants/hotels. Better yet, take a picnic to the Niagara Falls State Park.

Your next stop after Niagara is about 1.5 hours to Letchworth State Park Protected content where you can hike the canyon, see great spring flowers, super fall colors and cross country ski after you stay and dine at the Protected content . Reservations recommended there and for the cabins/tent sites. It will be about a 5.5 hour trip back to NYC from there.
