Oslo and Luebeck/Hamburg Visit late Summer 2012

I will be visiting Oslo, Norway first time along with northern German towns (2nd time but my first time was 20 years ago!). Do you have any comments/suggestions? Are there any social circles in those cities, maybe? I would like to meet with the locals. Thank you.
