Personal Responsibility

I am reading an article about a woman who died, partly, as a result of drinking massive amounts of Coke. She drank up to 10 litres a day of the stuff. She was consuming 11 times the recommended does of sugar (1kg per day) and twice the dose of caffeine. Her teeth had been removed due to the decay.

The media seem to be saying that this is a tragedy and clearer labelling is required to prevent such things.... This just seems to me to be an example of the modern world not taking responsibility for their own actions. When something bad happens we seem to try and point to governments that we elected or corporations that we support rather than look closer to home.

What do you think? Is this new? What is causing it?
