Retiring Abroad

Hi. I'm a Canadian who grew up in northern Ontario (born in Nova Scotia), and I now live in Southern California. I'm thinking, for ecoomic reasons, of retiring abroad in one of those places that are touted as being inexpensive paradises, like Thailand, Malaysia, some parts of Europe, Latin America (Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, etc.) or New Zeland. I'd love to hear from people who've done that and are happy with their choice.
