Robots and Pain

The robots are the daily partner of humans soon!
There are two ways to develop them, regarding pain, or unpleasant feelings resp. perceptions in humans and other kind of sensitive creatures.

A: They “know” about this fact, of course in terms of data or “knowledge”, but they can use this knowledge against humans and animals as well, when robots become self-reliant.
(The reflection and the effect of pain on organic creatures in the computer system, is present)

B: They have no idea of it; they are just programmed not to hurt organic creatures - except of military robots - so they have no idea of something like pain or unpleasant feelings.
(The reflection and the effect of pain on organic creatures in the computer system, does not exist)

This is not only a question for computer scientists, I think.
Which solution would you choose?
