Suggestions for shipping from the USA overseas?

Does anyone have suggestions for shipping items from the USA to Amman, Jordan? I have been give a five hundred dollar stipend and have approximately a dozen large heavy boxes. UPS and FEDEX were very expensive. Any suggestions for international shipping??? I head overseas September 9th and need to ship soon. Thank you in advance.
