Thai school offers transsexual toilet

II remember a discussion in the previous Italian Parliament corridors (reported on TV) between a transsexual member and a woman Member of Parliament.
In this case no third bathroom existed and thus the transsexual member of Parliament used to the women’s one. This made some women feel uncomfortable.

Today I have fallen on this article.

“The Kampang school's initiative, far from stirring up controversy, has instead prompted a discussion in other schools over whether they should be providing the same facilities”
"They used to be teased every time they used the boys' toilets," he said, "so they started using the girls' toilets instead. But that made the girls feel uncomfortable. It made these boys unhappy, and started to affect their work."

So does building a special toilet in school or any other entity (private / state company), theatre, Cinema etc advance the cause of winning wider acceptance for transsexuals?
