To help a Poor child is good or have a Pet animal

My friends,To help a poor child or disabled child is better or to have Pet animal like a Dog or Cat in home and invest on them is better ?? by doing which you can feel more relax and good ??? I think what ever money we invest on Pet animals in home,by that money we can help any poor or disabled child to make there life little bit better.As I think God made animal and learn them also how to survive.They know better then human how to survive and they never sleep empty stomach.but human sleep some time empty stomach because of money.
